The 911 Addressing office assigns and maintains all addresses in Macon County to ensure emergency services can locate residents quickly.
Safe Newborn Surrender
North Carolina's Safe Surrender Law allows a parent to surrender a newborn baby (up to 7 days old) to a responsible adult at a hospital, health department, community health center, fire station, or EMS station, without fear of criminal prosecution.
