Macon County Emergency Medical Services provides pre-hospital emergency medical care and transport to the citizens and visitors of Macon County.

The Macon County Fire Marshal's Office, a division of the Macon County Emergency Services Office, performs fire inspections. Macon County has a fire prevention ordinance enforceable by civil and criminal penalties.

The 911 Addressing office assigns and maintains all addresses in Macon County to ensure emergency services can locate residents quickly.

Safe Newborn Surrender

North Carolina's Safe Surrender Law allows a parent to surrender a newborn baby (up to 7 days old) to a responsible adult at a hospital, health department, community health center, fire station, or EMS station, without fear of criminal prosecution.
